Bank changes name, but not customer philosophy

New signs for U.S. Bank were placed at 38 former locations for PFF Bank & Trust, including Claremont's branch on Foothill Boulevard and 19 other locations in the Inland Empire. The sign replacement took place on Saturday.

According to a statement by the bank, all former PFF customers can now do business at any U.S. Bank office, and legacy U.S. Bank customers will have the added convenience of 38 new locations.

U.S. Bank acquired the banking operations of PFF Bank & Trust from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) in November 2008.

"We have been very gratified by the comments from former PFF customers who have already noticed the value that comes from banking with us," said Karen Racusin, region manager for U.S. Bank in a press statement. "Customers appreciate our focus on service and the wide range of services that they can now receive by being part of the sixth largest bank in the country."

U.S. Bank also acquired Downey Savings. After all of the new branches change over to U.S. Bank in mid-May, U.S. Bank will have 559 branches and 681 ATMs in California, according to the statement.
