Sex offender William Gill met his 14-year-old victim through MySpace.com.
Pomona sex offender arrested
Suspect allegedly had sex with Claremont boy, 14
A 40-year-old sex offender was arrested by Claremont police Thursday for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old Claremont boy. Police also seized a computer from his home that reportedly contains child pornography.

William Gill, a Pomona resident, met the victim through the online community MySpace.com in early August. They exchanged messages for a few days, and the victim invited Mr. Gill to his parents' Claremont home, where they allegedly had sex. Mr. Gill visited again only two days later, and soon after the victim came forward to police.

The suspect is a registered sex offender who was arrested within the past two years for having sex with a male minor in San Bernardino County.

After being arrested Thursday by Claremont police, he admitted during an interrogation that he had a sexual relationship with the 14-year-old boy.

FBI investigators have been working with local authorities on the case. "They are interested in child porn on Mr. Gill's computer," Claremont Police Lt. Stan Van Horn said. "If there is child porn, they are considering filing child porn charges against him."

Mr. Gill is currently in custody of San Bernardino County probation officers.
