J. PAUL GETTY: The Getty Center is located at 1200 Getty Center Dr. in west Los Angeles adjacent to the 405 Freeway. Hours: Tuesdays through Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Sundays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; closed Mondays and major US holidays. Admission is free, and parking is $5 per car. LOS ANGELES COUNTY MUSEUM OF ART: LACMA is located at 5905 Wilshire Blvd. in Los Angeles, near Fairfax Avenue. Hours: Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, noon to 8 p.m.; Friday, noon to 9 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is $7 for adults; $5 for students and seniors; $1 for children ages 6 to 17; free for children under 6. MALOOF FOUNDATION FOR ARTS & CRAFTS: This hand-built historic residence is situated within a 6-acre public garden and includes Maloof’s handcrafted furniture, an American Indian collection, wood-turned bowls, sculpture and paintings gathers over 50 years. Open Thursday and Saturday, 1 to 4 p.m. The garden is open on Thursdays and Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m. Tours arranged by reservation. Location: 5131 Carnelian Street in Alta Loma. MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART: MOCA is devoted exclusively to contemporary art (art produced in any media since the 1940s). The main facility of the museum is located at 250 S. Grand Ave. in Los Angeles. Hours: Tuesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.; closed Monday. Admission: $8; $5 for students and seniors; free for museum members and children under 18 years of age with an accompanying adult. Admission for special exhibits will vary. NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY: The museum features exhibits of natural and cultural history. The museum participates in exhibitions, education and research, and its collections cover over 33 million specimens and artifacts that reveal the history of Earth. Hours: Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Location: 900 Exposition Blvd. in Los Angeles. SKIRBALL CULTURAL CENTER: The Skirball Cultural Center opened to the public in 1996.  Its mission is to explore the connections between four thousand years of Jewish heritage and the vitality of American democratic ideals.
