Kudos

Dear Editor:

Congratulations and thanks to the many people who made possible the Padua Hills Theatre open house on Sunday, July 12. More than 1,000 guests celebrated the renovation and re-opening of one of Claremont’s most important historic and cultural gems.

In particular, former Mexican Players were there along with many others who had enjoyed meals and plays at the Padua Theatre during its heyday from 1930 to 1974. Thanks to Bridget Healy and the Friends of the Padua Hills Theatre, a newly formed group of neighbors and friends, who planned the open house.

Thanks to Arteco, the Tessier family, and Richard and Sheryl Lindholm of Chantrelles who rehabilitated the buildings and grounds so beautifully and who donated refreshments.

Thanks to several groups that provided entertainment and to many who shared artifacts and displayed memorabilia from early years.

Thanks to the PVTA for providing a shuttle service to ease parking. All in all, it was a grand occasion for the Claremont community to celebrate.
