The Claremont COURIER has had an integral role in the city of Claremont since 1908. In 1955, the COURIER was purchased from Stanley Larson by Martin and Janis Weinberger, who still publish the paper today.

The city of Claremont is located in eastern Los Angeles County. Boasting a population of more than 35,000, Claremont has a lot of history, and is well known as the home of several major private colleges. In 2007, Claremont was named the 5th best place in the United States to live by Money Magazine.

The COURIER is published twice a week—Wednesday and Saturday—and has several special feature sections which come out during the year, including its award-winning Almanac.
