Donald G. Moehring

Claremont resident Donald G. Moehring, MD, died from a heart attack on February 23, 2009 while vacationing in the Galápagos Islands, Ecuador. He was 70.

Dr. Moehring was born in Fort Snelling, Minnesota on August 9, 1938 and spent most of his youth in Duluth, Minnesota. After graduating from Harvard University, he attended McGill Medical School in Montreal, Canada and completed his radiology residency at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

He was drafted into the army and spent one year in Vietnam.

In 1962, he married Michele Wehrle.

“We were blessed with a total enjoyment and love for each other and shared a great life,” Ms. Moehring commented.

In 1972, Dr. Moehring and his wife moved to Claremont where he set up a radiology practice with Sam Salen. It was a long and happy association, both personally and professionally, explained Ms. Moehring.

A bright and engaged man, Dr. Moehring was always seeking new experiences, new friends, new ideas and new fly-fishing adventures.

“He was an extremely loving and caring man who will be forever missed,” said Ms. Moehring.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
