Glenn Erlenmeyer
Auto mechanic, athlete

Former Claremont resident Glenn Erlenmeyer died at the age of 44 on April 14, 2008 in Florence, Alabama.

Born on July 22, 1963 in New Jersey, Mr. Erlenmeyer moved to Claremont with his family at the age of 2. He attended Claremont High School and was an all-star pitcher for Claremont Little League. He was also a key player on the all-star AYSO soccer team that toured Europe, where they played some of their best games. Mr. Erlenmeyer also found enjoyment in music and was an accomplished drummer. He had fun playing with friends in a “garage band.”

Professionally, he worked as an auto mechanic in Las Vegas, Nevada and, later, in Alabama.

Mr. Erlenmeyer’s sister, Linda Taflinger, noted that her brother “befriended just about anyone he ever met.”

Ms. Taflinger has made arrangements to have him cremated and returned to Claremont where she resides. She intends to have her brother’s ashes buried next to their mother’s gravesite in Oak Park Cemetery.
