Former 52-year Claremont resident Richard “Dick” L. Anderson died on July 27, 2007 at his home in Laguna Woods after a brief illness. He was 96.
Mr. Anderson was born on January 12, 1911 in Illinois and spent his youth and young adulthood there. During World War II, he served in the US Army. Following military service, he moved to California and earned a degree in business administration from the University of Southern California. After college, he worked in sales in the lumber business until he retired in 1977. He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 58 years, Ann E. Anderson.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Annette Anderson and Mark Bradbury of San Clemente; by his brother-in-law, Clifford Espevik, and sisters-in-law, Carol Espevik, Leonora Walker and Priscilla Worthington of Illinois; and by numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
Memorial services for Mr. Anderson will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, August 3, 2007 at Claremont United Church of Christ, Congregational. Private entombment services will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
