COLLEGE SCOREBOARD ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Jeff Clark, CMS Track & Field

The junior from Los Altos did everything he could to add to the SCIAC championship cause of the Stags by placing within the top 3 in each of the three events that he competed in. Clark won the high jump with a leap of 6-8, finished second in the triple jump with a 46-6.25 mark and placed 3rd in the long jump by soaring more than 22 feet at 22-8.

Naneh Apkarian, PP Women’s Water Polo

In what was a tight championship water polo contest last weekend against Cal Lutheran, Apkarian came through in a major way for Pomona-Pitzer, netting the game-winning goal with 1:11 when her shot deflected off of Regals goalie Katie Windsor and into the net. The Irvine native’s score capped a 3-goal comeback for the Sagehens, who at one point in the game trailed, 7-5.
