Claremont police respond to bomb threat

A bomb threat was called in to Claremont police at 11 a.m. on Friday stating that a passenger had a bomb in a red duffel bag on the Greyhound bus, in transit to the bus station just south of the 10 freeway in Claremont. The suspect is described as a Hispanic female resembling popstar Christina Aguilera, according to Claremont Lieutenant Aaron Fate.

Indian Hill from American Avenue to San Jose was shut down as police responded to the threat. Freeway on and offramps at Indian Hill on the 10 freeway were also closed. The Greyhound station was evacuated and bus passengers were held as a bomb squad checked the bags and the female was questioned, according to Lt. Fate. No explosives were found and the search was called off with no arrests shortly before 3 p.m. Investigation into the caller who reported the threat is on-going.
