Police search for suspect in attempted robbery at Rhino Records

On February 28 at around 3:30 p.m., at Rhino Records, 235 Yale Ave., the pictured suspect exited the business and set off the theft alarm. Store employees confronted the suspect who stated, “I have a gun on me.” No gun was seen.

The employees backed away from the suspect and the suspect fled the area on foot. No vehicle was seen. Property loss was unknown.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic or white male, around 40 to 45 years old, 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds, with a thin mustache and goatee. At the time of the incident, he was reportedly wearing a black Adidas knit cap, a gray/black North Face jacket, a black T-shirt, black Adidas warm-up pants with white stripes down each side and tennis shoes with white soles.

If you recognize this suspect, call the Claremont Police Department Detective Bureau at 399-5420. Police caution that if you see the suspect, do not approach him, but immediately call 9-1-1.
