Joanne Marie Wise

Church-goer, longtime Claremonter, “Gram” to 49

Joanne Marie Wise, a 43-year Claremont resident, died from a massive stroke on August 8, 2018. On home hospice the last six days of her life, Mrs. Wise died surrounded by her loving family. She was 86 years old.

Joanne was born in Pasadena, California on June 25, 1932 to Sylvester and Margaret Moore. She had two sisters, Barbara and Marian, and a brother, David.

Mrs. Wise was an active member of Purpose Church (formerly Pomona First Baptist) for more than 30 years. She loved her church and friends, and was a faithful servant of the lord, her family shared.

Mrs. Wise spent most of her years raising her five children but later returned to work as a caterer for Marie-Antoinette, where she worked for 10 years. She went on to enjoy a 17-year career with Clark’s Drugs.

She will be missed, but her family will be comforted knowing she is now with her lord and savior.
