Grandmother, beloved music teacher, musician

Evelyn Gladys Hubacker died in her home on Thursday morning, October 8 at the age of 84.

Evelyn was born March 3, 1936 and grew up in the state of Michigan. She was the youngest child of the late Earl Frederick and Gladys (Berne-Allen) Hubacker.

She is survived by her loving daughter Josephine Lee of Portland, Oregon; stepdaughter Elizabeth  Bausman of Santa Ana, California; grandchildren Calvin Lee and Mikayla and Matthew Bausman; sister Harriet Hubacker of Houston, Texas; and brother Allan Hubacker of Honolulu, Hawaii. She was also loved by nieces and nephews and numerous friends.

Ms. Hubacker did many things in life, but she was happiest when she was sharing her love of music. An accomplished pianist and organist, she played for numerous churches, schools, choirs and musical groups as well as with individual soloists throughout her lifetime. She was also a beloved music teacher who for many years taught in school programs and individual piano lessons.

She lived in numerous places throughout her lifetime, including the last 12 years in Pomona as a resident of Mt. San Antonio Gardens, where she enjoyed playing the piano for numerous activities.  She also loved to travel and spend time with her family. One of the places she most enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren was at Disneyland. She will be greatly missed by many.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Harmony Project of LA at  www.harmony-project.org, or to the League of Women Voters at www.lwv.org, and please vote!
