The Claremont Police Department has closed the lobby to all non-essential visitors. The station is open for the following situations:
• Regularly scheduled child-custody exchanges (to take place by front door monitored by video surveillance)
• Individuals who are required by law to check in with law enforcement for compliance to terms of release.
On Sunday, January 26 a Pomona man was arrested days after he allegedly committed a strong-arm robbery at Sprouts. At approximately 4:30 p.m., a man was seen leaving the store with miscellaneous groceries without paying for them. The manager tried to chase him down, but the suspect, later identified as 59-year-old Wayne Ross, backed into a motorized shopping cart.
