The Claremont Police Department is actively conducting enforcement around the City of Claremont for speeding, illegal racing, reckless driving, and illegal vehicle modification, funded in part by a grant obtained from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS).
The next two weeks, officers will be focusing their attention on traffic safety around our schools. As our officers are actively issuing citations, we remind each of you that Road Safety Starts With You. Often times, citations are issued to Claremont residents, the very people asking for more enforcement.
Claremont police officer Matt Morales will be the handler for CPD’s new K-9, an 11-month-old red blood hound named Drew. She is trained in human scent detection and will be used to search for missing persons as well at locating suspected criminals who are attempting to hide. Officer Morales recently completed two weeks of intensive training.
