The city of Claremont welcomed five new members to its law enforcement staff as four police officers and one jailer were sworn in during a badge pinning ceremony at the city council meeting held Tuesday.

A Riverside man refused to take responsibility for a crime he said he didn’t commit; instead claiming it was something in the Claremont water. According to Lieutenant Mike Ciszek, officers responded to the 200 block of Yale Avenue around 2:30 p.m. following a call of a man flailing his arms and yelling, “f**k you!” to people outside a local eatery.
