Police looking for man suspected in assault

The Claremont Police Department is requesting help to identify a man accused of sexual assault in Claremont. At 1:30 a.m. on June 18, the man rode his bicycle up to 2 females on the 700 block of West San Jose Avenue, grabbed their buttocks, and fled.

Shortly after, as one of the victims was walking to her car, the man returned, pushed the victim to the ground, and sexually assaulted her. A witness was able to scare off the man, who fled the area, leaving his bike.

Similar crimes have been occurring in local communities, and the Claremont police are requesting public assistance to help identify the man. The man is described as a male Hispanic, age 17 to 25, with brown hair and eyes, between 5’8 and 6’1, with a slender build. The bicycle he left behind was a blue Pacific Talon mountain bike.
