Police blotter 4-30-21

Wednesday, April 21

The Claremont Police Department received a 9:30 a.m. call regarding someone picking through the dumpster at Motel 6, 840 S. Indian Hill Blvd., a violation of the city’s municipal code. Arriving officers found Ruben Villafuerte, 31, from Ontario, in the trash receptacle, who said he was looking for recyclables. A search allegedly turned up a methamphetamine pipe, and Mr. Villafuerte was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. He was booked at Claremont PD headquarters before being released with a citation to appear in Pomona Municipal Court.

 

Thursday, April 22

Claremont police on a routine 2:19 a.m. patrol of the parking lot at Claremont Lodge, 736 S. Indian Hill Blvd., ran the license plate of a 2000 Toyota Rav4 and discovered it had been reported stolen in Cathedral City the day prior. They then reviewed motel security footage and saw three people had exited the car, and the room they had rented. They knocked on the door and found the woman they say drove the hot car, 35-year-old Cathedral City resident Brittany Edwards, and arrested her on felony car theft and possession of a stolen vehicle charges, and for an outstanding felony warrant. The other two people who police say arrived in the stolen Toyota, Jose Martin 39, from Rialto, and 33-year-old Fontana man Carlos Ismerio, were also arrested for outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants, respectively.

 

Sunday, April 25

In a Blotter first, twin brothers make an appearance this week after being arrested on in-tandem drug charges. Police got a 12:54 p.m. call about a suspicious gold 2001 Chrysler van parked at the Shell station at 747 S. Indian Hill Blvd., and went to check on it. There they found twins Brett and Kyle Bussey, both of Upland, and both 29. A records check found Brett had San Bernardino and Los Angeles County warrants out for his arrest, and a search allegedly turned up hypodermic needles. Brother Kyle also had a warrant out of San Bernardino County, and was allegedly in possession of heroin. The brothers were both booked at Claremont PD headquarters before being released with citations to appear in Pomona court.

 

Monday, April 26

Claremont police received a 5:39 p.m. call from a 19-year-old Pomona woman who said she had been assaulted by her boyfriend while she had been holding their infant daughter in her arms. Police arrived at the home in the 2300 block of San Fernando Court and investigated. They determined the 18-year-old suspect, a Covina resident, had indeed assaulted the woman. They arrested him on two counts, misdemeanor domestic violence and felony child endangerment. Police say the woman’s injuries consisted of redness to her head and neck area. The baby, who is not yet one year old, was physically uninjured, according to police. The accused assailant was booked and jailed in Claremont prior to posting a $100,000 bond and being released.

 

Tuesday, April 27

Police were summoned to College Park, 126. S. College Ave., by a witness who said he saw a man smoking methamphetamine in a bathroom shortly before 7:47 p.m. Arriving cops saw a man matching the description pedaling away on a bicycle. While questioning Ehdino Mendozaolmos, 33, from Los Angeles, a records check revealed had three outstanding arrest warrants. A search then allegedly turned up a glass methamphetamine pipe. He was arrested, booked for misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and the warrants, and released with a citation to appear in Pomona court.
