The Webb Schools baseball team lost their second round CIF Southern Section playoff game to Costa Mesa, 10-1. The Gauls played a strong game with the exception of the fourth inning, when they gave up seven runs.
The highlight of the game for Webb was a home run robbing jumping catch by senior outfielder JJ Cunningham.
“The result was not what we were hoping for yesterday, but JJ Cunningham made the best play I have ever seen in a high school baseball game,” Director of Athletics Steve Wishek declared.
The boys end the season with an Academy League pennant, a perfect 9-0 league record and a 16-5 overall record.
