by Steven Felschundneff
Claremont girls soccer defeated Bonita, 2-1, on Tuesday, putting the final touch on a great season and netting a second consecutive Palomares
League title.
Even if the Pack had lost against the Bearcats, the girls were bound to be champions because second-place Alta Loma was more than one game back.
Junior Emily Maass and sophomore Samantha Healy each scored a goal, and Healy also got an assist.
Claremont ends the season at 9-1, overall 19-1-1, and will host the first round of the CIF tournament when the bracket is announced.

Claremont has been on a winning streak all month, and if not for two losses at the beginning of league play, the boys soccer team would have joined the girls with a 2020 title. As it stands, Claremont ends the regular season in second place in the Palomares League with a 8-2 record, which was good enough to earn a trip to the CIF tournament.

With the loss Claremont is now 5-4 in the Palomares League and tied for third place with Glendora. The Pack has one leag ue game left, and if the boys win they should automatically qualify for the CIF tournament when the bracket is announced.
