Women's Perspectives in the Dharma Traditions (and Beyond): 2013 Jain Conference. In this conference, diverse and many-sided voices will take on 2 primary tasks: First, to examine how texts and traditions pose concrete obstacles to the full citizenship of women. Second, to articulate new approaches, cultivate alternative readings and re-frame marginalized perspectives of those very same texts and traditions in order to usher in social equity, gender inclusion and the co-shaping of abundant communities. The conference takes place August 23 and 24 at Claremont Lincoln University’s Mudd Theatre.
