The Claremont Symphony Orchestra opens their sixtieth season with a program of classical works by Ludwig von Beethoven at Bridges Hall of Music on October 21.
Kira Soltanovich performs at Flappers Comedy this weekend. She was born in the former Soviet Union and was raised by immigrant parents in San Francisco: “Like most kids, my parents took me to Disneyland—not for the rides, for the lines. They assumed there’d be food at the end of them.”
Pomona College will host an author reading on October 25 with Pulitzer-Prize winner Paul Muldoon, who has been called “the most significant English-language poet born since World War II.” Mr. Muldoon is poetry editor for The New Yorker, has published more than 30 collections of poetry and is professor of English at Princeton University.
