Claremont Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Robert Sage, will perform Sunday, June 10 honoring Great Britain, site of the 2012 Olympic games. After the performance will be a fundraiser after party at Casa de Salsa, which will donate a percentage of food orders to CSO.
Transatlantic Steel is scheduled to perform a free show at Folk Music Center Sunday, June 10 featuring Appalachian strings and Zimbabwean keys. Joti Rockwell and Tony Perman bring together instruments of southern Appalachia with the indigenous instruments of Zimbabwe using guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle and mbira.
PermaDirty Project Space hosted an after party following the art exhibition at Heirloom on Friday. PermaDirty’s current display, “Teen Love, Angst and Prepubescent Awkwardness,” features a wide variety of artwork within the theme. The exhibition at Heirloom, “Small Work in a Small Space,” was part of what PermaDirty owner and director Cynde Miller called a “PermaDirty take over,” in which artists from the Inland Empire display their works at an off-site location in conjunction with PermaDirty.
There is something unique about Hip Kitty Jazz and Fondue that has allowed it to stand strong, and even expand, while other Packing House businesses have come and gone. It is one of only a few businesses that have survived since the redevelopment’s opening in the summer of 2007.

The unique gym is getting an extra boost as 12-year-old student Caroline Redfield prepares to go to Montreal’s National Circus School this summer to train under the guidance of performers from Cirque du Soleil.
