SWAZZLE PUPPET COMPANY presents “The Court Jester and the Story Dreamer.” Children and parents are invited to this lively and interactive puppet show that will let the audience choose the plot and conclusion of the show. 3 p.m. Claremont Library, 208 N. Harvard Ave., Claremont. 621-4902.

 

Thursday, JULY 26

TAI CHI IN THE GARDEN Each class is limited to 20 students. Instructor Joseph Bojanek begins each class with a warm-up and teaches the elements of proper and safe movement. Classes are held indoors and outdoors depending on weather. Wear comfortable attire and bring a bottle of water. No experience is necessary and all are welcome to attend. Once registered, meet the instructor on the front patio of the California Garden Shop before the class’s start time. Six-week series. 9 to 10 a.m. Admission and class fees apply. FRIDAY NIGHTS LIVE Bands will perform every Friday evening this summer from 6 to 9 p.m. Bring folding chairs and enjoy the free entertainment each week in the Village. FREE ADMISSION to the Butterfly Pavilion from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Standard garden admission fees still apply. July 29 is the last day of the Butterfly Pavilion for the season and visitors will have a chance to help release the butterflies from the pavilion into the garden. TEA TASTING Compare and contrast Taiwanese and Chinese oolong teas. This lecture, presented by Tiffany Williams, will explore the different manufacturing methods, soil and flavors present in oolong teas. FREUD “The Man and the Myth,” presented by Jim Laughrun, who will discuss Sigmund Freud and the importance of his work. Mr. Laughrun is a psychoanalyst and obtained his doctorate from the Claremont School of Theology. This program is free to attend. A buffet lunch is available at 11:45 a.m. for $12.
