Candlelight Pavilion dinner theater is currently showing The Music Man through July 22. Meredith Willson’s The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band he vows to organize—despite the fact he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian the librarian.
Claremont Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Robert Sage, will perform Sunday, June 10 honoring Great Britain, site of the 2012 Olympic games. After the performance will be a fundraiser after party at Casa de Salsa, which will donate a percentage of food orders to CSO.
It all started with a trapeze. Now, a year and a half after opening in town, Claremont’s Pilates Studio M—an unconventional exercise venue offering Pilates, yoga and circus arts—is twirling, spinning and contorting itself to international recognition.
The unique gym is getting an extra boost as 12-year-old student Caroline Redfield prepares to go to Montreal’s National Circus School this summer to train under the guidance of performers from Cirque du Soleil.
